Johnson & Starley Ltd - New central extract ventilation systems supports latest building regulations
Johnson & Starley’s new generation of
central extract ventilation systems has been introduced in
support of the latest version of Part F of the Building
Regulations and the Good Practice Guide 268 for domestic
ventilation. Two multi-spigot systems, one featuring state of
the art EC fan technology, as well as an in-line version, have
been introduced to meet all specifiers’ and contractors’
requirements.
Designed for use in new build and existing dwellings, these new
central extract systems are designed for installation in the
roof space or ceiling void. The slim design of all three
versions and the ability to mount them in different positions
provides the contractor with complete flexibility. Commissioning
can be carried out with the systems running and once balanced
cannot be interfered with by the occupier. All units, however,
have a fan speed controller with option to be conveniently
mounted remote and allows ventilation performance to be
increased by up to 25%, in accordance with the Building
Regulations.
The C300 and C300 Premier central extract systems are designed
for whole house ventilation. They are multi-spigoted and have
125mm and 100mm spigot options to suit the layout of different
dwellings. Each spigot has a damper which can be adjusted to
balance the ventilation to individual rooms without removing
ductwork.
The C300 systems are capable of achieving airflows of 300
m3/hour. The standard model is equipped with an AC fan. The C300
Premier includes an EC fan for even more energy efficient
operation and lower running costs. It is ideal for highly
specified installations.
For smaller dwellings, the C180 in-line system provides spigots
for one duct in and out. It has an AC fan and provides an
airflow of up to 180m3/hour.
All the new central extract systems have an integral filter
which is easy to remove and protects the internal components.
Additional controls, such as humidistat and air sensors,
together with ducting kits are also available.
