CEDIA UK EXPO 2007 Gains Industry Association Support
CEDIA, the Custom Electronic Design and
Installation Association, has gained support for its annual Expo
(ExCeL London, 25th-28th June 2007) from two influential
industry trade associations. BIDA (British Interior Design
Association) and RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects)
are both lending their credibility and marketing support to
CEDIA Expo 2007.
Support from these key associations will ensure extensive
exposure for CEDIA Expo 2007 and will help secure a growth in
interior designers and architects visiting the show.
“As an organisation dedicated to advancing architecture through
professional excellence, it is vital that we keep our members up
to speed with new electronics systems for the home, and the
potential of this technology for integration and concealment
within the fabric of residential properties.” explains Minesh
Patel, CPD Marketing at RIBA. “That’s why we’re supporting CEDIA
Expo, a unique education and product showcase event where
attendance carries CPD points for architects.”
“We are delighted to support CEDIA Expo. BIDA and CEDIA members
share a common purpose – we create beautiful home interiors to
meet the lifestyle aspirations of our clients. As a result, our
members often work closely with CEDIA members to integrate home
electronics technology seamlessly into designs” says Dean
Keyworth, Chair of BIDA. “CEDIA Expo is a great opportunity for
our members to find out about the latest developments in this
area. It provides the chance to see at close hand technologies,
such as, LCD, plasma and projector screens, multi-room audio
systems, automated furniture mechanisms and lighting control
solutions, and understand how their inclusion into a scheme can
be stylish as well as efficient.”
Listening to exhibitor feedback after 2006, CEDIA has made a
number of improvements which will help in 2007. These include
creating larger aisles to make visitor traffic flow easier and
an extra day for build up and break down (two days in total),
ensuring easier access and traffic management at the event.
CEDIA Expo has also relocated to a new hall (Hall S1-S4) at
ExCeL London, which is nearer to the venue’s main entrance and
provides better access to catering facilities. More routes to
nearby London City Airport and a new car park underneath the
venue will meanwhile, make it easier for visitors and exhibitors
to attend the event.
ExCeL London had a double award win at ‘The Event Awards’ at the
end of September where the venue took gold for ‘Live Events
Venue’ and silver for ‘Exhibition Venue of the Year’.
Other relevant developments at ExCeL London bode well for the
social and networking side of CEDIA Expo. In the past twelve
months a number of new bars and restaurants have opened close to
ExCeL London, whilst nearby Canary Wharf is also gaining in
reputation for the quality of its pubs, restaurants and hotels.
Making use of these facilities, CEDIA is currently finalising
exciting plans for the Chairman’s Reception, the CEDIA Awards
presentation and CEDIA Party – so watch this space for
developments.
CEDIA Expo 2007 is the only dedicated trade event for Europe’s
fast-growing home technology, automation and integration sector.
Last year’s CEDIA Expo attracted over 6,000 trade visitors to
London. As the market continues to expand, this year’s event
promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
