Toshiba Air Conditioning on the menu for new Chester dining-venue

A stunning, architect-designed pub refurbishment on the banks of the River Dee has created a picturesque new restaurant venue for Chester – The Red House. Toshiba air conditioning installed by local specialists Bostock Air Conditioning Limited has helped to transform the building and contributes to the success of the building’s dramatic terraced glazed façade.
The former pub is now a 130 cover contemporary restaurant popular at lunchtime and in the evenings. Everything was stripped out to virtually a bare shell and totally re-fitted. Now its décor is chic and the views are outstanding. The investment made by the owner was considerable and the air conditioning system had to be the right one.
High heat gains and losses resulting from the sheer extent of the glazing, covering both floors of the building as well as part of the roof, meant that air conditioning was essential. Bostock Air Conditioning used a 28 kW Toshiba VRF SMMS heat pump system for the main restaurant area and a Digital Inverter twin cassette system for the upstairs bar area and reception.
Unusually, the layout of the dining area lent itself to the neat arrangement of six Toshiba one-way blow ceiling cassettes in a row near the spine wall of the building below the mezzanine floor.
The restaurant owner is delighted and, as Kevin Bostock explains, “the installation worked out very well. The outdoor units are sited in a service area near neighbouring residential buildings but with these new systems nothing is audible and no disturbance is caused.”
