Icopal Systems - Paves the way in roof-top support systems
An adjustable support system for paved and
raised deck applications has been launched by Icopal to
consolidate its position as the UK’s leading single-source
supplier of flat roof systems and accessories.
The Roofgard paving support system provides a versatile yet
cost-effective means of creating a fully-supported and stable
raised paved area, terrace, walkway or balcony that enables
specifiers and contractors to make full use of a new-build or
refurbished building without damaging any waterproofing
membrane.
Quick and easy to install, it can be easily adjusted to overcome
differences in height and roof levels, creating a totally level
surface. It also allows services such as cables and piping to
remain in place and be accessible for maintenance but be hidden
from sight.
The system comprises a threaded upper supporting head for fine
adjustment and paver levelling which is interchangeable with
three bases and extension collars to give the full play of
height. Cross-directional fins on the supporting head ensure
equal spacing of slabs or tiles and effective drainage of the
pedestrian area.
Three standard adjustable support pads - small (40-65mm), medium
(60-105mm) and tall (100-145mm) - plus 40mm collars provide a
range of available heights from 40mm up to 225mm with additional
height available subject to stability checks.
The large surface area of the bases, which are all 330cm²,
provide mechanical resistance of 2,000kg without distortion when
under centred load on a single support system and adjusted to
maximum height.
The Roofgard paving support system is suitable for both timber
and concrete paving and is complemented by a comprehensive range
of accessories including paving cushions to further improve
stability and noise reduction, edge supports, drainage grates
and supports, and support plates to accommodate tiles when cut
to size.
Icopal’s range of Roofgard roofing accessories has been
specifically designed to meet the exacting requirements of
modern flat roofing while maintaining the waterproofing
integrity of the roof.
It includes Roofgard plant and equipment support system, cable
and pipe ducts, Anchorfast lightning conductor clips, roof and
parapet outlets, roof trims, cowled telescopic vents and terrace
grates.
Owen Balaam, product and market development manager for the
Roofgard range, said: “We now have yet another option for
specifiers, contractors and merchants when it comes to
considering how roof space can be used.”
