Fläkt Woods upgrades guide for product specifiers
Fläkt Woods’ Web based product selector
(also available as a “stand-alone” piece of software), has been
completely updated and upgraded with product specifiers in mind.
Among the innovations, customers can now gather information on
Specific Fan Power and the energy costs, allowing them to
calculate the overall life cycle costs of their equipment to
enable them to assess carbon footprint impact.
Learning from the green credentials of its sister companies in
Scandinavia, and understanding the implications of Part L
Building Regulations in the UK, has helped Fläkt Woods to update
their products selector, www.flaktwoods.com/fanselector
transforming it into the most comprehensive tool available for
the HVAC market.
Users now simply type in different parameters and key criteria
on fan types, to calculate the lifetime cost of each unit, the
software is designed to take into account the running/energy
requirements. Additionally a carbon footprint “score” (SFP) is
automatically worked out, helping specifiers to calculate the
total energy values of new buildings.
As well as this, two other significant upgrades have been added
to the product selection software tools available. Customers can
now access Acon, an exclusive selection programme for Air
Handling Units. Acon, is a Web based AHU configurator with a
direct link to the Fläkt Woods production facility in Sweden,
helping customers get every technical detail they need. Auto-cad
drawings, fan charts and life cycle energy calculations are
available.
The third major innovation is the addition of a pricing plan
which been structured to target core products, this improvement
also allows customers to order, track their products through
production, and computes when their equipment will be ready.
Fan Selector is unique to Fläkt Woods, providing on screen
solutions for every ventilation need, and is an easy route to
calculate fan requirements, including technical information on
duties, air volume and pressure, as well as full dimensional
details of fans and accessories.
Being fully web-enabled means that anyone can access the Fan
Selector directly using their Internet browser, without the need
to install any software, making it a completely versatile tool.
Registration is simple, just by following the on-screen prompts,
and a login code is emailed immediately.
