Fläkt Woods Limited - On the road with fire control
Following the successful launch of its
professional learning centre, Fläkt Woods is continuing to
promote best practice, presenting technical seminars to fire
professionals on topics including emergency operation high
temperature fans and fire smoke control.
The latest tutorials were presented to the City of Westminster’s
District Surveyors Office and the London Fire Brigade where they
were very well received.
Speakers explained fire smoke venting, controlling and removing
smoke from buildings by energy efficient, integrated control fan
powered units. Specialist presenters explained how fire growth
and smoke can be managed using examples of shopping malls,
warehouses and enclosed car parks.
Implications of the latest legislation, including fire safety
test standard EN12101 – part 3 and BS7346 part 7 for the new Jet
Thrust fan systems in car parks were explained as were new
ventilation products and services.
Fläkt Woods is a pioneer in the fire safety field, having built
up vast knowledge through involvement in many major construction

stringent requirements of fire safety, and to surpass, when
tested, the most recent fire safety regulations.
These lectures form part of The Fläkt Woods Ventilation College,
designed to introduce professional ventilation advice as part of
any on-going Continuing Professional Development programmes.
