Carrier Air Conditioning - New gas-fired rooftops complete packaged ac range from Carrier

Carrier Air Conditioning has introduced six gas-fired rooftop packaged air conditioners. These 48AZ models complete its comprehensive range of new high performance, energy efficient rooftop packaged equipment designed to replace out of date, R22-using products on the roofs of supermarkets, factories, hotels, and public building all around the UK. As with the rest of the range, the self-contained gas-fired models can directly replace time-served existing units and fit precisely into the same spaces, requiring no new ductwork, pipework, electrical connections or even roof curbs.
With factory-installed Carrier Pro-Dialog Plus controls these new machines are also well-suited to new applications with demanding energy use criteria and performance requirements. Three of the models use scroll compressor technology: the other three have reciprocating hermetic compressors. All include a thermal cut-out to protect against electrical overloads.
These dedicated gas-fired units cover the nominal capacity range 43-116.1 kW cooling and 46.8-147.4 kW heating. The entire Carrier rooftop range covers the nominal capacities 6.9-150 kW cooling and 7.0-147.4 heating. Gas-fired heating is also available as an option on most of the models in the wider range.
The gas heating system is designed as an alternative to hot water coil or electric heating options for conditions where these are not specified or available.
All these Carrier systems have been specifically designed to operate with the environmentally acceptable refrigerant R407C. They have also been constructed from stronger more weather-resistant materials than has traditionally been the case. The heat exchangers have high levels of corrosion and UV protection.
The units incorporate Carrier’s Flying Bird II two-speed fans. These are made of a composite recyclable material and employ a multi-blade design and rotating shroud, as used in the aeronautical industry. They are exceptionally quiet and do not generate low-frequency noise. At part load or low outdoor temperatures the fan automatically switches to low speed.
The units are fully wired in accordance with EN standards and include thermomagnetic circuit breakers and a main disconnect switch. A wide range of options and accessories is available.
Carrier is an active participant in the Eurovent Certification Programme and these products are Directory-listed.
