Pope Priestley Architects - Lo Shu Events Goes With A Swing

Pope Priestley Architects LLP hosted a Lo Shu shindig (15th anniversary party) on 7th December at Apartment 26 in Southampton.

Formula One’s Mark Gallagher gave an entertaining motivational presentation drawing parallels between the adrenalin-fuelled world of motor sports and modern day business.

Dennis Priestley, MD of Pope Priestley says: “This is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the company’s success and to say thank you to the people who have made the last 15 years possible”.

Over the years the firm has seen growth across a wide spectrum of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, leisure and education, with names such as Sunrise Senior Living, Southampton Solent University, Linden Homes, Credit Suisse and The Accor Group.

For Dennis, the last 15 years have flown by and the firm has gone from strength to strength. ‘Over those years we have grown organically and built on the original solid foundation. If you combine that with the commitment and talent of great staff and a generous measure of good fortune, how could we fail.’

Dennis adds ‘there is a continuing gap in knowledge of younger staff and the need to train people is becoming more and more necessary. Changes in information technology and computer design skills occur at an increasingly rapid rate and we need to continue to embrace these changes and adapt our working practices accordingly. Perhaps the key issue for any architectural practice is maintaining and developing design skills because without that we are only draughtsmen/women’.

From Cardiff student to successful architect, Dennis demonstrates a character that is committed, hardworking and highly motivated. With such a talented team, Pope Priestly Architects LLP will continue to create dynamic buildings for all of us to utilise and enjoy for 2007 and beyond.
