Enact - Support Government Energy Efficiency Initiative
Following a recent speech by Gordon Brown heralding the
Governments energy efficiency focus and Green Homes
initiative, a conference organised by the LGA (Local
Government Association) focussing on Climate Change:
Your Council, Your Climate, Your Action, is set to
reiterate many of the points raised by Mr Brown relating
to energy efficiency in the home.
Exhibiting at the conference, which takes place on the
4th – 5th December at the Ramada Hotel in Leicester,
will be Enact Energy, the multi-award winning firm of
energy consultants that specialises in providing and
managing energy efficiency projects for local
authorities, housing associations, and fuel utilities.
The conference, which aims to present key findings from
the LGA's Climate Change Commission on how councils can
make a change in helping to deliver national climate
change objectives at local level, will provide an ideal
platform for Enact to demonstrate its pro-active
approach to climate change and ways to reduce its causes
and effects.
The focus on energy efficiency in the home in the speech
made by Mr Brown holds particular resonance for Enact.
Mr Brown stressed the significant amount of energy that
is lost collectively in all of our homes through poor
insulation. One of the projects that Enact manages, the
Heat Project, focuses predominantly on the installation
of loft and cavity wall insulation in all homeowners and
private tenants’ properties, which can cut CO2 emissions
in the average home by up to two tonnes, and save up to
£345 on an annual fuel bill.
Enact will be promoting the companies project management
services as well as the Heat Project at the LGA
Conference. Exhibiting in the main hall of the
conference, Enact anticipates the conference will be a
huge success, in particular following the renewed focus
on the importance of energy efficiency and climate
change heralded by the Government. Paul Johnson,
Director of Operations at Enact comments:
“We are delighted to be exhibiting at the LGA Climate
Change Conference this year. To support a conference
that focuses so clearly on climate change and how we all
have to work together to reduce its impact and effects
is very important to us. It is time that people start to
wake up to the fact that everybody can do their bit to
prevent climate change, and as the speech by Mr Brown
illustrates, a large part of the solution lies in the
home.”
