DOORS OPEN AT UK’S LARGEST GREEN-BUILT CONFERENCE CENTRE
The
doors opened for the first time this week at the UK’s largest
purpose-built green conference and events centre.
The first public event at the £7 million EPIC Centre at the
Lincolnshire Showground was an exhibition of sustainable and
environmentally friendly technologies held over the two days of the
124th Lincolnshire Show.
Lincoln-based environmental consultants Delta-Simons sponsored the
Sustainable Living Exhibition, which aimed to inform and educate
visitors about eco-friendly products and how everyone can do their
bit to help the environment.
It was the first environmental consumer trade show to be hosted in a
purpose-built low-carbon building.
Jacqui Vear, Commercial Manager at the Lincolnshire Events Centre,
said the two-day event,was a great success.
“The exhibition provoked a lot of interest and we had excellent
feedback from people who were seeing the centre for the first time,”
she said.
“Our exhibitors were very positive about repeating the event in the
future – one exhibitor reported that he’d done £125,000 worth of
business in just two days!
“The event demonstrated that the new EPIC Centre works very
successfully as an exhibition space and that it can provide a much
needed forum to bring together businesses in the East Midlands with
an environmental focus.”
