A new insulated roof and wall system and two flagship products for
industrial buildings, that all come with exceptional guarantees for
specifiers’ and building owners’ total peace of mind, will feature
on the debut stand for Arcelor Construction’s Arval portfolio at
Sheds 2008.
The new recruit to the Arval portfolio is the Fidélité insulated
roof and wall system which provides a single source of supply for a
non-fragile roof or wall assembly and a guaranteed U-value complying
with current Building Regulations.
Fidélité has recently won LPCB certification to LPS1181 Grade B and
comprises a non-fragile walkable profiled liner sheet with glass
fibre insulation, spacer system, profiled outer sheet and
accessories such as mastic, fixings, fasteners and seals. As well as
being available in a wide range of colours, coatings, textures and
finishes, it is easy to install and comes with a 30-year guarantee.
The two flagship products on Arval’s stand (no A19, February 6-7,
Celtic Manor Resort) are Promfire fire-resistant composite panels
and AR200XP, a high-performance, colour-coated steel building
envelope solution with exceptional guarantees.
Promfire has also recently won LPCB certification to LPS1208 which
involved passing an extensive series of tests to demonstrate its
ability to resist fire from both directions (LPCB fire resistance
requirements for elements of construction used to provide
compartmentation).
Different panel thicknesses and fixing regimes were tested,
satisfying the LPCB that they can provide fire resistance for up to
two hours. This is in addition to their other benefits – a choice of
profiles and module sizes, finishes and fixings, and colours
including metallic silver as well as a protective coating that comes
with a 30-year guarantee.
The components on which Promfire’s fire performance is based are
rock mineral wool insulation (Euroclass A1) which is sandwiched
between two coated steel facings (Class 1 surface spread of flame to
BS 476: Part 7:1987 and Building Regulations Class 0).
The LPCB certification provides additional comfort to product
specifiers aware of the growing concerns about fire risk among
building occupiers, owners and insurers, concerns that have helped
to make the fire performance of construction materials increasingly
important in the specification process.
Suitable for a wide variety of applications including internal
partitions and external boundary fire walls, Promfire panels combine
fire, thermal and structural performance with design flexibility and
value for money.
The new AR200XP system also helps specifiers and contractors manage
risk and budget restraints. Free comprehensive guarantees of up to
30 years for roofing and cladding applications (depending on the
colour and environment) are available with AR200XP which also
combines excellent durability and resistance to corrosion with
colour retention.
AR200XP does not require annual maintenance inspections, has no
reductions for orientation and is applicable on roof pitches down to
2º. Cut edges are covered for the entirety of the guarantee period.
Combining the pre-painted leathergrain finish in a choice of 13
colours with a substrate of a hot-dipped metallic coating means the
period-to-repaint decision for typical inland and marine
environments is up to 30 and 25 years respectively. It is offered
directly to the building owner and fully transferable should the
building ownership change.
