New types of natural gas are coming on stream and
these pose challenges to ensure that boilers will work efficiently
and safely whatever type and mix of gas. The new Viessmann Vitodens
200W boiler range has been designed to provide the answer to these
challenges. This feature earned the new Vitodens 200W the 2008 Corgi
Installer Live Award for Gas Safety.
Lamda Pro
Not a new Italian car but a new way of controlling combustion; part
of the boiler’s Energy Management System (EMS)
Working like the engine management system on a car, the control and
burner analyse the incoming gas and adjust the combustion process,
second by second, to ensure the cleanest and most effective burning.
Should it need to, the boiler can be switched between Natural gas
and LPG.
Safety is ensured as the burner automatically gives optimum
combustion, whatever the quality of the incoming gas, so that no
installer or serviceman adjustments are required. In turn this cuts
out the chance of wrong setting and so the risk of the boiler giving
out high levels of carbon monoxide in the flue.
Boosting condensing savings too
As gas prices rise so customers will want their boilers to save even
more fuel. The EMS on the Vitodens 200 W achieves further savings of
up to 15%. It uses a ‘plug and play’ connection to weather
compensation control so constantly driving the boiler to operate at
a flow temperature low enough to give condensing operation most of
the time.
The new control is also designed to suit the zoned heating systems.
Three separate time settings for separate circuits are included
within the boiler programming controls as well as switching for DHW
and solar energy inputs.
Solar ready
Adding renewable energy systems to existing heating installations is
not always easy. The new Vitodens 200W control simplifies this by
including the connections and control logic to seamlessly integrate
Viessmann Vitosol solar thermal systems.
What is not new is the heat exchanger design. With now some 1.5
million trouble free installations of its stainless steel exchanger
Viessmann sees this approach as a guarantee of long service life.
Warranties are ten years on the exchanger, three years on other
components; extended to five if the installer has been on a
Viessmann training course.
Combination models span 26kW, 30kW and a new high rating - 35kW,
with system boilers at 19,26,30 and 35kW.
