Steria - Builds infrastructure for Housing Corporation
Steria, a leading European end-to-end IT services provider, today
announced a three year agreement with the Housing Corporation to
deliver a range of infrastructure management services. The contract,
worth £7.5 million, will help reduce operational costs and improve
the efficiency and security of the Government agency’s
infrastructure for its 500 employees and more than 2,000 registered
landlords and local authorities.
The contract will see Steria manage all core infrastructure services
- everything from server and storage management, to security and
software components. Steria will also manage the desktop
infrastructure for all employees across the Housing Corporation’s
nine offices upgrading all desktop equipment.
The contract aims to improve the day-to-day running of the agency by
providing key support services such as applications hosting and
support, systems and data administration and backup and recovery
facilities. The programme includes the introduction of Continuous
Service Improvement Processes and ITIL-based service management
solutions together with a Service Desk for call logging and
resolution.
Peter Marsh, Deputy Chief Executive and Project Sponsor at the
Housing Corporation, says, “We’re responsible for funding new and
affordable housing and regulating housing associations throughout
England. We are delighted to award this contract to Steria after an
extensive procurement process which has focused on choosing the
right partner to help meet our business needs."
Paul Sellick, Director of Public Authorities at Steria comments,
“We’re delighted to be working with the Housing Corporation on such
a significant and challenging project. We have a strong heritage in
delivering and supporting infrastructure management services and are
confident this new programme will make a real difference to
employees and customers alike.”
