Purcell Miller Tritton success at RIBA East - Spirit of
Ingenuity Architectural Awards
Leading architect and historic building consultant,
Purcell Miller Tritton, has won both the Public Sector
Award and Heritage Award for its role in the restoration
of Greyfriars Tower in Kings Lynn, and has been
commended for its work on the Big C Centre in Norwich,
at this year’s RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity
Architectural Awards.
Purcell Miller Tritton was lead architects in the
£1.1million repair and conservation of the 14th century
Greyfriars Tower. The tower is the last significant
surviving feature of a Franciscan Friary and the
restoration has thoroughly repaired the tower to its
former glory. Other works involved integrating the tower
into the public garden area and securing the future of
the building for another half-century.
Acting as Lead Consultants and providing both
architectural and interior design services, Purcell
Miller Tritton provided the New Norfolk & Norwich
University Hospital with an informal and relaxed
environment in the build of their Big ‘C’ Cancer Family
Information & Support Centre.
Mark Goldspink, CEO of Purcell Miller Tritton,
commenting on the success, said, “We are delighted to
have Purcell Miller Tritton’s work recognised in this
manner by the RIBA, particularly as both projects have
been such a tremendous success. The awards are testament
to superb teamwork established with both our client and
contractors.”
47 projects were entered for the prestigious annual
regional awards scheme and 18 were shortlisted for the 8
categories. Overall, there were 7 winners and 6
commendations
