Evac+Chair, the leading emergency
evacuation chair with a 20 year pedigree, has just reached the
significant milestone of 10,000 satisfied customers.
These customers span many diverse markets from retail and
leisure to education and the public sector. Many of the
Evac+Chairs installed are also on contract where full
after-sales training, and regular maintenance and servicing are
provided.
Evac+Chair as an emergency solution is gathering pace as tighter
health and safety regulations are coming into force with the
Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) and the
Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requiring building owners to
have a means of evacuating people with mobility difficulties.
The Evac+Chair fits the bill as it enables a single user to
evacuate a person of up to 150Kg quickly and easily.
This British product is made to high specification and quality
levels in the company’s Birmingham factory and has been approved
under the stringent TÜV GS German quality standard which covers
not only the product but the factory production process too.
This safety and quality mark only appears on products that have
been evaluated, tested and approved for safety by an independent
third party and includes tests on payload, tilt and kinetics of
the evacuation chairs. Such is the company’s confidence in its
product that the Evac+Chair comes complete with a five-year
manufacturer’s warranty on parts and labour.
Evac+Chair International constantly invests in developing the
product, recently for instance increasing the chair’s possible
angle of descent to an operating angle of 40º. It also invests
in training courses for chair users, conducting a continuous
programme of these courses each year.
