Brand Rex - Launches new underfloor heating
The Speciality division of leading cabling solution
manufacturer, Brand-Rex, has today announced it has
developed new cabling solutions for the Underfloor
Heating (UFH) market and is supplying to market leading
manufacturers of electronic heating systems.
UFH is now recognised as one the fastest growing sectors
of the UK heating market. With the building industry
continuing to expand the demand for highly controlled
UFH systems has seen significant growth with some
industry observers forecasting that the sector may grow
towards £100 million in the next 3-4 years*.
Traditional systems heat from the top down and have a
tendency to over-heat your head, leading to stuffiness.
UFH uses a radiant heat design to gently heat the room
from the bottom up. Scientific research has proven that
floor heating is the most comfortable and advisable
heating system, as it considers the natural
physiological temperature distribution of the human
body.
“These systems demand high performance cabling to ensure
they are both mechanically robust and deliver precise
temperatures,” says Brand-Rex sales director, Steve
Kavanagh.
“We have utilised our extensive knowledge of materials
used in our Aerospace products, for harsh and high
temperature environments, to develop and market products
that are effectively part of a ‘fit and forget’ system.
The cables need to be high performance in terms of
temperature and mechanical characteristics whilst
complying with strict legislation such as RoHS,”
