Wavin Plastics - Wavin Plastics support Canal Restoration Scheme
Wavin Plastics has donated piping to the Wiltshire and
Berkshire Canal Trust to help repair more than 60 miles of canal
in Wiltshire. The trust has used the pipes as a chute for
placing concrete into the wall of the lock near Lyneham in
Wiltshire to add necessary reinforcement to the structure.
Martin Buckland, Fundraising Director for Wiltshire & Berkshire
Canal Trust, comments: “Wavin’s donation of the 600mm diameter
half section of pipe means that the void behind the brick lock
wall can be filled with concrete easily and quickly.”
“The aim of the trust is to protect, conserve and improve the
route of the Wiltshire & Berkshire and North Wiltshire canals
for the benefit of the community and environment. We wouldn’t be
able to do this without the donation of materials from companies
like Wavin Plastics.”
Denise O’Leary, spokesperson for Wavin Plastics, comments: “As a
Wiltshire based company we were delighted to be able to provide
the piping that the trust required to enable them to continue
work on the restoration scheme.”
