Osma underfloor Heating - Chosen for luxury housing development
Keen to work in partnership with a company renowned
for its technical expertise and products which guarantee
quality, bosses at OSMA Underfloor Heating (UFH) from
Wavin Plastics was chosen by Ashford Homes for it’s new
luxury housing development – Vicarage Gardens, in Dilton
Marsh, Westbury.
OSMA’s Pocketed Polystyrene and Modular Chipboard
systems have been installed in each of the four
five-bedroom homes to give the properties maximum open
space. An OSMA TouchPad has also been fitted in each
house which allows users to change heating settings and
programs by remote control.
Project Manager with Ashford Homes, Stuart Morgan, said:
“OSMA UFH is a trusted brand and OSMA well known as a
market leader. We were looking for a company that could
offer technical expertise and a product that offers
assurance.
“There are many different heating systems on the market
but we know OSMA Underfloor Heating has become one of
the most unique and talked about innovators within the
industry, supporting both private and public sector
initiatives for commercial and residential development.
“We wanted to employ a system that adds to the design of
a room and provides the most comfortable and manageable
heat supply.”
Craig Parker, Project Manager for OSMA UFH, said being
installed at the Vicarage Gardens development will help
raise the profile and appeal of OSMA UFH among
homebuyers.
“The performance of both systems is guaranteed because
pipe-spacing and heat output is defined during the
design process,” he said. “The standard OSMA UFH
control, comprising low voltage programmable thermostats
with built-in optimisation, enables the end user to set
each room’s temperature independently.
“The energy efficient controls use very little power and
their intelligent programming ensures the heating is
only on when required, contributing to the expected 25
per cent saving on running costs that one can typically
expect from using underfloor heating instead of
radiators.”
OSMA’s Pocketed Polystyrene system allows for maximum
flexibility and is regarded as a real time-saving option
as the system allows insulation to be fitted at the same
time as the UFH pipes. The insulation panels have
machined channels and screed pockets to grip the pipes.
Special end panels hold the pipe turns and insulate the
Flow and Return pipe runs for each circuit.
The Modular Chipboard system meanwhile, uses
tongued-and-grooved chipboard panels with pre-fitted UFH
pipe that enables simultaneous installation of floor
deck and UFH over a joisted or battened floor.
Pre-assembled Osma System Flo manifiolds support both
the systems at Vicarage Gardens.
