Honeywell controls range is easy to programme, easy to use and
easy on the eye
Honeywell has launched its major new family of
heating programmers and timers. The ST9000 series is
specially designed to be easy to programme, easy to use
and easy on the eye.
ST9000 employs an enhanced version of the Line of Text (LoT
™) concept. This features a large ultra clear display
and simple on screen English language instructions.
Honeywell developers worked carefully with installers
and heating users to see how they interact with the
controls, then added prompts at every stage so it is
obvious to what is happening and what they need to do
next.
ST9000 controls are so simple to use, installers and
users should not need to look at the instruction
booklet.
Installers and users can choose one of several preset
time/temperature programmes to save time, or programme
in their own option by following simple instructions.
The ST9000 series is now one of the mainstays of the
Honeywell range. It includes models for all domestic
heating and hot water applications, for radiator and
underfloor heating, with gas or oil fired boilers
including condensing and combination models, as well as
electric heating or cooling systems. The three initial
model types are:
ST9100 timers for combi boilers or individual zones
ST9400 programmers for heating and hot water
ST9500 2 Zone programmer for multi-zone applications
Each is available in a dedicated single or multi day
version. The multi day can be configured for 7 day 5/2
(weekday/weekend) operation, or 7 day to allow a
different program each day, or restricted to single day
use.
All provide up to three on/off periods per day, or six
temperature changes. Seven day versions have a “Holiday”
button, which keeps the chill off while the property is
unoccupied for up to 99 days, then resumes normal
temperature control automatically on the day of return.
The ST9000 range fits on an industry standard back plate
and is a direct “plug in” replacement for older
Honeywell ST6000 models and many other programmers. The
clock time and date are preset. An automatic time
setting feature adjusts the clock for daylight saving,
each spring and autumn.
Installers can use a specific key combination to enter
“installer” mode, if necessary, to select or deselect
certain features. These include Optimum Start, which
monitors the existing temperature each morning and fires
the boiler at the last possible moment to achieve set
temperatures by the time required.
