FORMICA® CHEMTOP2™ Recognised for its innovation by the
Construction Products Association
Formica Limited has been recognised for its product
innovation in High Pressure Laminate (HPL) by the
Construction Products Association. Formica® Chemtop2™
was chosen as one of the products to be featured in the
Innovation category of the 2006 edition of Construction
Products Innovation and Achievement (CPIA).
Only 31 products nationwide were chosen from numerous
entries across the industry for this year’s publication,
which annually showcases the most innovative products
and processes created by the construction products
industry during the previous twelve months.
As a manufacturer with a world-class reputation the
latest innovation in HPL from Formica Limited, with
advanced chemical resistance, is Formica Chemtop2. It
provides supreme performance for critical environments
such as hospitals, clinics and laboratories. The range
uniquely includes both standard post forming and
structural compact grade laminate in a range of designs.
“We are very pleased to have been chosen for this year’s
CPIA publication. As a company we invest heavily in the
development of new products and it is fantastic to be
recognised for the innovation of Formica Chemtop2,”
added Richard Pollington, Regional Director of Formica
Limited for the UK and Ireland. “The development of
Chemtop2 involved new manufacturing processes, and
specialist papers and coatings.”
Commenting on the achievement, Simon Storer, External
Affairs Director for the Construction Products
Association said: “The standard of new and exciting
products from across the industry continues to raise the
bar and this year is no exception. The industry has not
always been good at trumpeting its own achievements,
however CPIA shows how the construction products
industry is continuously developing and creating
innovative products and processes which make a
significant impact on the whole life cycle cost of a
building.”
The products featured in the CPIA 2006 publication cover
contributions to four key areas of the construction
industry; Health and Safety; Innovation; Natural
Resource Management; and Energy and Carbon Saving. It
highlights how the new products and processes within
these categories bring benefits to users and customers
alike, with improvements in production, delivery,
installation and performance. The companies included in
CPIA, show that they are already doing, what others are
just talking about.
