Westleigh - Design Team Expands
Westleigh Developments Ltd, one of the Midlands’ leading
commercial and new homes developers, has appointed Dale
Meredith as Assistant Design Engineer at its Grange
Business Park headquarters in Whetstone, Leicester.
Dale’s appointment sees the design team at Westleigh
expand to three members from just one after only 12
months. The rapid growth of the department reflects the
firm’s wider expansion plans marked by the introduction
of a dedicated New Homes department earlier this year.
Chris Beighton, Managing Director for Westleigh said,
“We have expanded the design team in line with the
increased opportunities currently being secured by our
land and business development departments. Strengthening
our in-house expertise enables us to consider a greater
range of sites and take on projects that other
developers may not. Plus the team’s skill expertise
allows us to adopt more sustainable solutions in keeping
with our environmental policy - Westleigh Greenhouse.
“Dale’s role will primarily involve assisting with all
aspects of infrastructure design and I am sure he will
be a great asset to the team.”
This is Dale’s second appointment after completing an
NVQ 3 at Leicester College and undertaking an
apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering 6 years ago. He
was attracted to Westleigh by the prospect of working in
a dynamic team. He said, “I have previous experience
working with site personnel, which has given me the
confidence and knowledge to aid with site issues.
Westleigh is always developing its methods of working
and I hope to contribute to this evolution in the design
department.”
An avid Leicester City fan, Dale has recently taken up
golf and is sure to be inundated with offers of games,
to help him improve his swing, by his peers at Westleigh.
In addition to Dale, Westleigh’s design team is made up
of Civil Design Manager Danny Lang who has been with the
company for 5 years, and Design Engineer Lewis Charity
who joined the team last summer.
