Simmtronic - Ahoy
A team from lighting controls specialist Simmtronic
and clients was one of the 250 entries in the
construction industry’s charity yachting event, the
Little Britain Challenge Cup regatta, held at Cowes 6th
to 9th September. After a series of races the 10 man
crew, comprising Simmtronic staff and different clients
each day, had sailed their 40 ft yacht into 4th place in
IRC Class 6.
A charter skipper supervised safety and was available
for local and tactical advice, but the yacht was helmed
by Simmtronic’s Richard McCarthy, Steve Petts and Adam
Savage in turn, with Kevin Stubbs as navigator and Mario
Costanzo assuming the role of crew chief.
During the four days they were joined by crew members
from client companies including: NG Bailey, Phoenix
Electrical, Skanska, Hilsom Moran, Arup and Faber
Maunsell.
The Little Britain regatta brings many of the leading
players in the construction industry together for a
highly competitive and sociable event. Over many years
it has raised considerable sums for sailing charities to
help disadvantaged or disabled people experience the
world of sailing.
