ISG has been awarded its second project
under a framework agreement with the rapidly expanding VILLAGE
Hotels and Leisure chain, securing a c.£15 million scheme to
build a new VILLAGE Hotel with Health & Fitness Club in south
Leeds. This project closely follows the award of a c.£14 million
scheme that ISG recently secured to build a similar facility at
the Ashton Moss Leisure Park, close to Manchester, which is due
to open in spring 2008.
Situated off junction 28 of the M62, the new four-storey hotel
will feature 113 high specification guest rooms, eight meeting
rooms of varying sizes and two flexible function suites, with
moveable partition walls and a breakout area. This latest
addition to the growing VILLAGE portfolio will also host
familiar facilities including the verve grill restaurant that
will comfortably seat over 100 people at any one time and the
victory pub & kitchen, a stylish but traditional pub venue.
The attached two-storey health & fitness club boasts a 25m
swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam room, with a luxury health &
beauty salon. A large open plan gym complex is situated on the
first floor of the club with a comprehensive range of
state-of-the-art gym equipment, in addition to a separate
spinning room, aerobic area and wellness room.
The hotel has a striking design with powder coated louvers and
extensive glazed areas to the façade. ISG will form a large car
park for guests and visitors to the health club and carry out a
range of hard and soft landscaping finishes across the site,
with the project scheduled for completion by summer 2008.
Craig Tatton, managing director of ISG Regions, commented:
"VILLAGE has established an exceptionally strong brand within
the UK hotel market over a relatively short period of time, by
providing guests with high-end facilities at affordable prices.
ISG’s framework partnership with VILLAGE provides a highly
effective procurement route for the brand to further establish
its credentials within the sector using a trusted contractor,
capable of adding value at every stage of the build process.”
