Bath & West Showground - homebuilding & renovating show

The sixth South West’s dedicated Homebuilding & Renovating Show will take place at the Bath & West Showground on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November. It will be an invaluable resource for anyone interested in building, renovating, remodelling, creating a greener home or simply improving their current one.

Whether building a home from scratch, having a major extension, remodelling parts of the house or just keen to integrate the latest environmental technology, The Homebuilding & Renovating Show will provide the right products, services, advice and inspiration to enable a cherished vision to become reality. The public can bring copies of house plans or details of a renovation project in order to make the most of a visit.

With over 150 exhibitors it will be an ideal place to gain expert advice from national and regional suppliers and view all the best products, innovations and latest services. Twelve daily Masterclasses – free to visitors - will include practical demonstrations and a chance to chat on a one-to-one basis with key industry experts. Six free seminars will take place each day to cover all aspects of self-build and renovation.

Jason Orme, editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, who is himself a self-builder says the majority of homebuilders do so for the cost savings and eventual profit. “There are several important benefits to building your own home: you can build a better house than you can afford to buy and perhaps you can move to an area where house prices are out of your range.” He has designed a contemporary staircase in his self-build of glass and iroko; he has no hallway but extra space was created with a double-sided fireplace.

The show will be open from 10.00am until 5.00pm on the Saturday and from 10.00am until 4.30pm on the Sunday. Tickets cost £5 in advance or £8 on the door (Children under 16 go free). They can be bought by calling the ticket hotline now on 0870 906 2002 or online at www.homebuildingshow.co.uk. The website is also a useful resource where tips on subjects such as self-building, loft conversions, ecological technology and much more can be downloaded for free.
