Access control specialist, TDSi
has now released DigiGarde, a compact and versatile
optical fingerprint reader capable of storing up to
9,000 user templates.
The compact DigiGarde unit provides users with a
versatile biometric solution. Featuring an industry
standard Wiegand output, the unit is capable of
being connected to the majority of access control
panels.
At the heart of the unit is the DigiGarde sensor,
which features a high resolution (500 dpi) optical
sensor, capable of scanning and enrolling fingers of
all size and shape; the sensor also has a high
resistance to the damaging effects of electrostatic
discharge.
The finger location guide, critical to user
acceptance, has been ergonomically designed to make
the unit easy to use, with the finger presentation
plane allowing fingers to be presented and
successfully read over a wide angle.
With its large memory capacity, DigiGarde is capable
of storing up to 9,000 templates through a simple
and straightforward storage process - a high speed
matching algorithm ensuring data is processed
quickly and accurately. In addition to the use of
the DigiGarde unit, enrolment of fingers can also be
made using a desktop fingerprint scanner, connected
to the USB port of a PC. When used in conjunction
with the DigiGarde integration module for eXguard
PRO, TDSi’s advanced access management software;
this option provides an economical and
straightforward way of managing templates.
John Davies, managing director of TDSi said:
“DigiGarde is a great addition to our biometric
range. Incorporating robust, proven technology in an
ergonomically designed unit, DigiGarde will be
suitable for a wide range of applications including
financial institutions, commercial offices, airports
and public buildings”.
