Optex Europe – leader in
detection technology – has teamed up with the
leading CCTV lighting manufacturer illuminator
business Raytec, to launch an enhanced version of
its combined camera/PIR REDWATCH detector. The
result is guaranteed detection performance, 24-hours
a day.
The new REDWATCH option integrates detection pattern
and camera lens view with zero maintenance, long
life LED illumination from the Raytec Infra-Red (IR)
range.
REDWATCH, part of the REDWALL family of proven
external detectors, has multiple benefits including
an advanced high quality colour/mono camera with
varifocal lens integrated with the PIR, providing
the first ‘true’ BS8418 compliant RVRC-required
sensor, and an effective operational mounting height
increased from 2.3 metres (providing a 50 x 30 metre
detection range) to four metres (a 30 x 20 metre
detection pattern).
“The matched fields of view of camera and detector
as required under BS8418, ensure that all sensor
activation is verified by the video camera and vice
versa, thus dramatically reducing false and unwanted
alarm activations and improving the efficiency of
the monitored response,” explains Nigel Hackett,
Sales Director for Optex Europe’s RVR Division.
“The addition of a new IR unit matched precisely to
the beam pattern and the camera lens view ensures
intruders at night can be properly seen, providing
the RVRC operator with good quality images and
minimal noise for optimum performance,” he adds.
Raytec provides a full range of IR and White-Light
illuminators for the CCTV professional. All of its
illuminators offer industry-leading performance with
low running costs and low maintenance.
