Further demonstrating its
expertise in the commercial sector, the Newcastle
office of international project management and cost
consultants Faithful+Gould has recently completed
work on a £1.9m project in South Tyneside.
Appointed by City & Northern Projects,
Faithful+Gould acted as quantity surveyor for the
scheme which comprised nine new build, light
industrial units and associated infrastructure and
external works at the Simonside East Industrial
Estate in South Tyneside.
The Faithful+Gould team was involved in all aspects
of the project’s financial management from the
preparation of initial estimates to the agreement of
the final account, including the preparation of
contract documents and ongoing cost management.
Sean McKeon, associate director at Faithful+Gould’s
Newcastle office said:
”Faithful+Gould is well placed to work on this
scheme, having worked with a number of customers
across the country in delivering similar light
industrial facilities and starter unit type
accommodation for a range of clients and end users.
“We are currently involved in a variety of
regeneration schemes such as this across the
North-East, which are aimed at building on and
improving the area’s employment opportunities, and
attracting more business to the region. As an
organisation with local offices, this is key to our
long term strategic business goals.”
Throughout the project, Faithful+Gould worked
closely with architects, Ian Belsham Associates and
contractor, P Whelan Ltd.
Elliott Ward, managing director, at City & Northern
Projects added:
“This is the first phase of the redevelopment of a
number of reclaimed brownfield sites at Simonside
East facilitated by One NorthEast and driven by us.
“Having never worked with Faithful+Gould before we
were impressed with the role they played on the
successful delivery of this project.”
