Lightweight roof systems pioneer Decra has brought some Italian styling to its steel tiles range with the launch of a Roman version to meet the designer trend for all things continental.
Weighing in at just 5.38kg/m²,
the Roman tile is less than one-eighth the weight of
a traditional clay or concrete Roman tile and can be
installed on much lower pitches – down to 15º - due
to its soft satin finish which as well as looking
like clay, even feels like it to the touch.
Available in a terracotta colour as well as bespoke
colours (to order) for ultimate design flexibility,
the Roman tile follows in the footsteps of the Decra
Elegance tile launched late last year that uses the
same paint technology as Audi engineering.
The Roman tile also adopts the Decra trend of an additional protective coating on its underside which is unique to the brand and gives it even greater longevity for domestic, retail and industrial applications.
Produced using a unique four-stage manufacturing process as opposed to the usual two stages, each Roman tile has been cleaned, dried, painted and baked, with a powder coating on the upper surface as opposed to the traditional Decra granular coating.
The tiles are backed by another Decra USP - a 30-year guarantee that covers not just the tiles but also the complete weather security of the entire roof, In addition, they can be backed by the QA+ insurance-backed guarantee for installed systems including materials and labour, again to give specifiers and contractors ultimate peace of mind in today’s risk conscious culture
Easy to handle and quick to
install in all weather conditions, the
low-maintenance Decra Roman tile is the latest
addition to the comprehensive Decra range – the
pantile Classic, extra-thick Plus, the slate double
Stratos, and the clay plain tile double Oberon.
