Rockfon Ltd, the UK ceiling systems division of Rockwool International, has just unveiled its new-look website. The site has been divided into five key sections designed to link in with the company’s active ceilings concept. The five sections - Products, Acoustics, Performance, Design and Installation – are colour coded making it easy for the browser to quickly find the desired information with the minimum of clicks. There are also direct links to access information about the Rockfon Group, latest news and literature and samples order / download facility.

Importantly, the new-look site incorporates several innovative tools designed to aid ceiling selection, specification and installation. These include:

Specification Generator allows you to produce an NBS specification with the facility to cut and paste the relevant text into your NBS K40 template.

Quantity Calculator is a computer program designed to help ceiling contractors, building technicians, and distributors to calculate quantity consumption in different room types. Based on specific room input and the chosen Rockfon ceiling solution it will calculate the estimated quantity consumption of Rockfon ceilings and system components. For each calculation it provides a ceiling layout drawing and a consumption list, which can be printed or saved to file.

Acoustic Calculator has been specially designed to help acousticians; architects, building technicians etc. calculate reverberation time in different room types. Based on specific input regarding type of application area, room volume and surfaces in the room it will recommend different Rockfon solutions that will fulfil legal requirements or Rockfon recommendations related to reverberation time.

Application Guide - select a sector and room type and you will find out the requirements, which are applicable to the ceiling including relevant legislation and Rockfon recommendations.

In addition, the site which can be found at www.rockfon.co.uk contains a valuable distributor search facility which allows you to locate your nearest Rockfon ceiling distributor.
