Edmond Shipway - Plans to build on new partner Craig Keogh’s experience

The growing success of the building surveying division at construction consultants Edmond Shipway has led to the promotion of Craig Keogh MRICS to partner.

He joined the practice in January 2002 and was quickly promoted to associate in May of the same year. He was appointed head of building surveying in October 2005.

He will be dividing his time between Edmond Shipway’s Bath and Birmingham offices as well as supporting teams in Manchester and Nottingham.

Under his direction in 2006/07 the building surveying division recorded its highest-ever profit margin and in order to keep pace with demand he has already recruited new staff in Birmingham and Bath and is looking to grow the teams in Manchester and Nottingham.

Currently Edmond Shipway’s building surveying division is concluding an embassy fit out in Kazakhstan, and closer to home is just starting a prominent refurbishment programme for the University of Central England at its Gosta Green site which fronts the A38M.

Craig Keogh added: “Following the recent floods we are assisting the National Trust with surveys and remedial works and we currently have a staff member on secondment to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in Sri Lanka.

“This is a busy period for our building surveying division. We are actively recruiting to service a growing order book and we are delivering quality solutions for a prestigious client base.”

Edmond Shipway partner Alan Jones said: “Under Craig’s leadership the division has gone from strength to strength. With the use of traditional, technical appraisal combined with modern data gathering equipment and measurement systems, Craig and his team provide a customer focused service which is fast, reliable and delivers solutions appropriate to the portfolio size, from a single building to a stock of thousands.

“Craig will work alongside existing partners across the business as he continues to develop the Building Surveying division, both in terms of service provision and client base, while providing comprehensive and cost effective services for our clients.

“This is a further sign of the development of the practice and we look forward to the continued growth of Building Surveying with Craig as partner.”
