Edinburgh’s leading
regeneration expert The Burrell Company has
appointed selling agents Savills to market 131
converted and refurbished Listed properties at the
forthcoming Hawkhead Village development in Paisley.
The ambitious housing project, a joint venture
between The Burrell Company and Kier Homes, will see
the former hospital regenerated to provide a total
of 326 residential properties including converted
and new-build, set within stunning mature,
landscaped grounds.
Hawkhead Hospital was designed in the new modernist
style and is one of the city’s most prized
historical and cultural sites. Designed in 1934 by
Thomas Smith Tait, his portfolio includes the Daily
Telegraph building in London, the pylons on Sydney
Harbour Bridge, St Andrews House in Edinburgh and
the ‘Tower of Empire’ in Glasgow’s Bellahouston
Park.
Jennifer Goldie, sales manager at Savills will head
up the team at Hawkhead supported by Helen Wigfield,
senior sales negotiator, to market the impressive
luxury homes which comprise a mix of studio, one,
two and three bedroom apartments, duplexes and
townhouses.
Jennifer and Helen will begin working in the sales
centre at Hawkhead Village in late September.
Jennifer said: “Hawkhead Village will be an exciting
new landmark for Paisley and this project is a major
coup for us. I am delighted to heading up the team
based at the site straight from the outset, as I’ll
be able to see first hand, how these beautiful
buildings will be given a new lease of life.”
Andrew Burrell, managing director of The Burrell
Company said: “We have worked with Savills on a
number of our developments including Schaw House in
Bearsden and know that they fully understand the
qualities and individuality of conversion
properties.
“Hawkhead is one of the most exciting developments
happening in the central belt, reawakening its 1930s
Art Deco splendour matched with all the benefits of
contemporary living.
“I’m confident buyers looking to invest in a new
home in Paisley will be impressed with what they
see.”
Since the Hawkhead Hospital buildings became surplus
to requirements they have fallen into a state of
disrepair, and are in some cases derelict. The
Burrell Company has a wealth of knowledge and
expertise in renovating old hospitals having already
worked on the spectacular Drumsheugh Gardens in
Edinburgh, Schaw House in Bearsden and Elmhill House
in Aberdeen.
The development is located on Hawkhead Road,
Paisley. The first properties are due to be released
for sale later this year. For further information
