Persimmon Homes - Gratham acquisition for Persimmon Homes

Peterborough-based Persimmon Homes has acquired land in Grantham, which will provide more than 1.25 acres for redevelopment of a brand new residential scheme in Grantham, worth circa £3 million gross development value.

Persimmon has acquired the site with full planning permission for the construction of just 15 new properties. The development will comprise a mix of three and four bedroom homes and will be situated adjacent to the company’s existing Squires Gate development in the area.

Managing director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands said: “We expect initial work to commence at the site this summer and the site will officially launch for sales in autumn.

“In this particular area of Grantham, there is an extremely strong demand for quality new build homes and we are delighted to help respond to this current shortfall.”

All the new homes will be built on previously developed land which is in line with the government's policy on the redevelopment of brownfield sites.

Adrian concludes: “We are firmly committed to utilising brownfield land as not only does it provide wider land buying opportunities but former redundant sites can be transformed into thriving and active communities.

“This proposed new scheme has been carefully designed to appeal to a diverse mix of purchasers. The property market continues to perform buoyantly throughout East Midlands and I’m confident the new development will help meet the continuing and growing demand for new homes in the region.”
