ISG Totty Building - Secures third phase of work at the University of Bradford

Work is well underway on ISG Totty Building’s latest project for the University of Bradford, under its three year partnering framework deal for refurbishment and new-build contracts. The company is carrying out a £400K scheme to refurbish and upgrade facilities at the School of Pharmacy within the Richmond Building.

The project represents ISG Totty Building’s third phase of work at the Richmond Building, with the University committed to an ongoing programme of investment within core facilities across its campus. In this latest phase, the contractor will carry out a comprehensive strip out of existing facilities within the Clinical Pharmacy department, on the eleventh floor of the building, whilst upgrading all mechanical and electrical services on this level.

Partition walls will be removed and space rationalised across the floor to provide a more open and effective learning environment. ISG Totty Building will also form three teaching laboratories and install suspended ceilings and new lighting systems throughout. Accessibility remains a major challenge on site, with all materials and equipment being transported to the eleventh floor of the building via an external electrical hoist.

Paul Clarkson, construction director at ISG Totty Building, commented: “Appointed to our second continuous framework deal with the University of Bradford, our six year partnership continues to grow in strength, generating a wide range of opportunities across the institution’s property portfolio. The framework procurement route encourages close working relationships between client and contractor, greatly assisting a detailed understanding of specific requirements for each project and helping to maximise overall efficiencies.”
