2007
The Institute of Wood Science (IWSc) has confirmed that
this year’s annual conference will take place at
Edinburgh Castle.
The IWSc President’s Reception and Dinner will be held
on the evening of Wednesday, 21st November and the

The programme, which will be announced shortly, features
leading-edge science and technology presentations,

processing and applications, and will be given by a
series of expert speakers. Geoff Taylor, president of
the IWSc says “Seats of learning such as Napier

developments in wood and wood science, and this kind of
innovation is directly relevant for the requirements and
demands of the modern construction industry.”
The theme of relevance to the construction industry,
design professions and wood specialists will continue
into the next conference, planned for 2009 at Bath
