Bovis Lend Lease UK - Bovis Lend Lease is voted - Most Considerate Constructor of the decade

Bovis Lend Lease UK (BLL UK) has been named the Most Considerate Constructor of the past ten years by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, at their gala awards evening in London.
As well as winning the overall award across all construction sectors, BLL UK was voted Most Considerate New Commercial Contractor and was highly commended in the Most Considerate Housing R&M Contractor category. Additionally, Debut Services, a joint venture between Bovis Lend Lease and Babcock Support Services Ltd, was named Most Considerate Public Housing Contractor.
Bovis Lend Lease joined the Considerate Constructors scheme in 1997, at its inception. In 2003, Bovis Lend Lease became one of the first companies to become an associate member and for the last five years, every Bovis Lend Lease site has been routinely entered into the scheme. Achievement in the Considerate Constructors scheme is now also a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and an integral part of how Bovis Lend Lease measures on-site performance. The Most Considerate Constructor award was clinched with an average score of 36 out of a possible 40 over the 10 year period.
Murray Coleman Chief Executive of Bovis Lend Lease UK said, “I know that winning this award has made everyone at Bovis Lend Lease tremendously proud, but it’s very much a combined effort with our clients that has made this possible and I would like to thank them for their vision and their collaboration with us. It really vindicates our whole approach to construction. Wherever we build, Bovis Lend Lease always sets out to foster close relations with the local community, including schools and colleges, and to be good neighbours. With the amount of development going on in the UK now and over the next few years this is no longer a nice-to-have, but a must have behaviour from the whole construction industry.”
“This is a fantastic achievement and I’d like to thank our Senior Environmental Manager Andrew Kinsey for the hard work and commitment he’s shown in driving the culture of improvement in our performance as considerate contractors. Winning these awards is great recognition for all the hard work all of our people have put in over the years to improve standards on site and positively contribute to the communities in which we operate. By registering all of our construction projects, the scheme’s code of practice has become embedded in the way we manage all of our sites to such an extent that there is good natured competition between sites to see who can score highest. This can only be for the overall good of the industry,” Mr Coleman said.
