Ask Life - New life for Ashton
Plans Approved for New Apartments at
St Petersfield
Ask Life has been given the go-ahead for its first phase
of 72 stunning city-style apartments, to be called
Liberty at St Petersfield, in the up-and-coming district
of Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside.
Plans will also be submitted shortly for a further 92
apartments on the site of the soon-to-be vacated Ashton
Fire Station on Hodgson Street, which will be demolished
once the station has relocated.
The Ask Life apartments will form an integral part of a
new £42m urban quarter which is part of the larger
scheme currently being developed by Ask Life’s
innovative parent company, Ask Developments. The scheme
has newly completed public landscaped areas, overlooking
striking water fountains.
The one and two bedroom apartments, with prices starting
from around £99,950 will be developed in the first of
two separate blocks, all featuring fully-fitted luxury
bathrooms with ceramic wall and floor tiling and modern
contemporary kitchens, complete with stainless steel
appliances. The apartments will be built in accordance
with Ask Life’s quality and attention to detail - and
will include features such as extra room in the living
area, thanks to the elimination of ‘dead’ corridor
space, with most apartments benefiting from balconies.
The scheme’s location offers easy access to the
transport links into Manchester city centre and is close
to the M60 motorway network and Ashton train station.
Liberty at St Petersfield will also benefit from a new
sales and marketing suite. This is set to open for sales
of the apartments in September 2007.
Duncan Bowman, Director of Ask Life said: “Our
residential scheme complements the overall St
Petersfield scheme perfectly and we want to help create
a new district that people will be proud to live and
work in.
“The Liberty at St Petersfield apartments will benefit
from the excellent location and stunning landscaping. As
with all Ask Life schemes, they will be of a very high
standard but within a price-range that the majority, not
the few, can afford.”
Work on the first phase of the residential development
will begin in Autumn 2007 with the second phase expected
to start in 2008.
Once complete, the overall St Petersfield scheme, which
is being delivered through a public/private partnership
between Tameside Council, Ask Developments, Northwest
Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and English
Partnerships, will provide 280,000 sq ft of high quality
office space, and retail and leisure amenities totalling
400,000 sq ft.
