Sapa Building Systems - Sapa customer awarded host of British
standards
Sapa Building Systems customer Joedan Manufacturing
UK has been awarded a host of British Standard Kitemarks
for Sapa’s Dualframe window and door system which have
effectively positioned them to move into new markets in
the future.
Joedan has a well-known track-record for their bold
innovation and saw the investment in attaining the
Kitemarks as crucial to their future plans. The company
submitted a range of windows and doors to BSi and were
subsequently awarded:
• BS4873 - Specification for aluminium alloy windows
• BS7950 - Specification for enhanced security
performance of casement and tilt/turn windows for
domestic applications
• PAS023-1 : 1999 - General performance requirements for
door assemblies; Part 1 - single leaf door assemblies to
dwellings
• PAS024-1 : 1999 - Enhanced security performance
requirements for door assemblies; Part 1 - single leaf
external door assemblies to dwellings
All of the Kitemarks are an essential and increasingly
important element for fabricators especially those that
see their future in capitalising on the continuing
strong growth in the local authority housing, education
and private sector residential apartment markets. The
Kitemarks are frequently built into the performance
specification for projects in these markets.
Joedan’s Founder, John Purcaro, commented: “We have
never been backward in taking the steps necessary to
secure our future. British Standard Kitemarks are
crucial to our plans for this year and beyond and we
know that in this increasingly competitive marketplace,
they are going to make all the difference.”
