Mouchel Parkman - Mouchel Parkman forms new architectural design centre of excellence

Mouchel Parkman’s move into a new office this week in Cambridge brings together the design teams from the company’s Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire property offices to form a new Architectural Design Centre of Excellence for eastern England.
Mouchel Parkman has provided design and technical services to Cambridgeshire County Council for the past six years and in January this year it was awarded a contract for at least a further seven years.
The contract involved TUPE transferring half of the Council’s design team into Mouchel Parkman which is responsible for providing design services for around 300 Council-owned properties such as schools, libraries and offices as part of the county’s capital building programme.
“This new structure will enable the design team to work for a wider client base than solely Cambridgeshire. It will support our Bedfordshire and Islington contracts as well as private clients,” said Paul Dixon, Business Unit Manager for the Cambridgeshire office’s property team.
Opening the new office is also an opportunity to merge the company’s management consultancy office in Newmarket with the design team thus creating a cross-skilled office.
Simon Kerr, Management Consultancy’s Divisional Director PPP/PFI/Defence said: “The new office reinforces our commitment to our customers and builds on our close relationship with the property team. Wide-ranging services are now delivered under one roof which provides a wide range of flexible services for our client.”
Richard Cuthbert, Chief Executive Officer of Mouchel Parkman, officially opens the office today in the presence of around 80 guests from Cambridgeshire County Council, local schools and the private sector.
Cuthbert, commenting on the opening, said: “The new office is not only representative of our strong working relationship with Cambridgeshire County Council, but also of the company’s success in joining up our services in order to meet our customers’ needs across the region.”
