Mastic Asphalt Council - Shopping for success with Morrisons
The multi-storey car park of a major new Morrisons
superstore is being protected from the elements by more
than 6,500 square metres of premium mastic asphalt, in
three distinct colours.
Pure Asphalt Company Ltd was chosen by main contractor
Carrillion for the £450,000 contract in Crowborough,
Kent, because it could provide a high quality waterproof
finish in buff, light grey and dark grey.
The Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC) member was also able to
print an attractive brick pattern on the footways and
parking bays, with other areas receiving a crimped
finish.
Pure Asphalt’s stunning work also caught the eye of the
judges at this year’s MAC Awards. They said the
ambitious project showed “first class workmanship
throughout” and awarded the Bolton-based company a
trophy for Innovation.
Pure Asphalt Company Ltd began the work in November 2006
and it was finished in March this year. As an accredited
MAC contractor, any labour and installation carried out
by Bell Asphalt, together with all materials, is fully
guaranteed.
Only MAC contractors are permitted to install advanced
polymer modified mastic asphalt and have been fully
apprentice trained to install the material to the
highest standard.
The MAC Awards acknowledge contracts using mastic
asphalt and carried out over the past year.
