Intertek - Intertek acquires ASTA BEAB certification services
Provides manufacturers with increased testing and
certification efficiencies and faster market access
Intertek (LSE: ITRK), a global leader in testing,
inspection and certification, today announces its
acquisition of ASTA BEAB Certification Services. With
more than 65 years of experience, the UK-based ASTA BEAB,
is recognized globally as a benchmark for quality and
reliability throughout the testing and certification
industry.
“Adding the ASTA BEAB marks to our international
certification mark portfolio strengthens our ability to
provide manufacturers with seamless global market
access,” said Gregg Tiemann, President, Commercial and
Electrical Division, Intertek. “This acquisition will
help us to continue to meet our goal of providing
clients with greater efficiencies in the testing and
certification process and speeding up their time to
market.”
Manufacturers and retailers based in the UK, as well as
North American and Asia Pacific manufacturers selling
products into the UK, will now have direct access to a
wider range of certification marks through a single
point of contact in Intertek. Beyond safety
certification, the acquisition allows Intertek to grow
its EMC and RoHS testing, management systems
certification, and inspection services network. Intertek
will now offer an enhanced suite of service offerings
for manufacturers of products ranging from wiring
accessories and transformers to household appliances and
IT equipment.
