Frame Wise - Frame Wise debuts at interbuild with zero-carbon panels

Timber frame design and build specialists Frame Wise are debuting at Interbuild with revolutionary insulated wall, floor and roof panels that will help developers meet the Government’s 2016 zero-carbon targets.
The panels have been designed in-house by Frame Wise (stand 05-K115/L110) which provides a complete timber frame solution for projects nationwide including houses, schools, offices and nursing homes. This includes insulation alongside floating floors, external and internal joinery, plant and equipment hire, and fall arrest safety systems.
Their latest achievement, in their 10th anniversary year, is a block of 62 apartments on an inner city site in Swindon which at seven storeys is the current limit for timber-frame construction.
The new zero-carbon panels, which will help housebuilders achieve high ratings under the Code for Sustainable Homes by achieving U-values of 0.1 or less for walls and roofs, are even more recent proof that the company pushes the boundaries.
The panels incorporate thermal and acoustic mineral glass wool insulation from Saint-Gobain Isover which is manufactured from sustainable silica sand incorporating up to 80% recycled glass. Coupled with the frame of sustainable timber, Frame Wise buildings are designed to deliver the best environmental credentials.
At Interbuild (at the NEC from October 28th to November 1st), Frame Wise will also showcase a next-generation breather membrane from Isover which optimises moisture levels on the inside rather than the outside of timber-framed buildings as well as delivering the levels of airtightness required for zero carbon buildings.
