Brand-Rex Ltd - New Blolite+ Microcable from Brand-Rex allows
customers to defer installation costs
Leading structured cabling solution manufacturer,
Brand-Rex, has today announced the launch of its new
Blolite+ MicroCable, giving customers the advantage of
deferring initial installation costs as part of an air
blown cable system over traditional cable installations.
An extension to the existing, well established, Blolite+
product range the new microduct cable has been
specifically designed for improved installation
efficiency in pre-installed 10/8 mm microducts using
existing air blown installation techniques. Installation
capability of greater than 1000 m has been demonstrated,
multiple km distances may be achieved with onward
blowing techniques.
Microduct cabling systems allow for easy expansion or
upgrading using spare microduct capacity and are
suitable for complex route design, which reduces the
need for cable splicing. This combination makes the
system an ideal infrastructure for future proofing
networks.
The Blolite+ MicroCable has been subject to rigorous,
real-environment, specialised installation testing
inclusive of multiple vendor microducts and installation
equipment. The microduct cable is constructed of a
non-metallic, resin bonded glass central strength member
with high-density polyethylene sheath construction. Dry
water blocking technology ensures the cable cores are
fully water blocked.
The cable meets all the environmental and mechanical
requirements of the latest IEC 60794-5 and IEC
60794-5-10 specifications for microduct cabling. With
fibre counts from 12 to 72, in a 6.2 mm diameter cable
and with loose tubes accessible in mid span this product
is ideal for outdoor applications such as metro, access
and campus networks.
