Viessmann - Warm sound, comfort and economy

June saw the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall after a £100 million refurbishment. To the visitor the striking part is the new seating, warmer acoustics and the opening up of new public areas giving the Hall 35% more space. New landscaping, shops terraces, bars and restaurants will make the site a stunning public area.
What the visitor may not appreciate is the work that has been done to ensure their comfort. This included replacing the aged existing boilers with four Viessmann Vitoplex 300 boilers at 1750kW output capable of delivering 85% efficiency. The ‘lead’ boiler is equipped with flue gas heat exchangers to provide further operating efficiency and all are fired with Weishaupt burners. Consultants; Max Fordham and contractors N G Bailey.
