British Gypsum - New Supply Chain Director for British Gypsum
Plaster and plasterboard market leader, British Gypsum, has
appointed Martin Donald as Supply Chain Director, with overall
responsibility for driving ongoing improvements in customer service
through all aspects of the company’s operations.
Martin brings extensive experience in managing the Supply Chain at
Ilford Imaging Group in the UK and Europe, including a period as
Supply Chain Director for the company’s operation in Switzerland. He
has most recently spent 4 years with Goodyear/Dunlop in the UK,
latterly as Operations Director.
Martin joins British Gypsum at a crucial time for the company, as
they bring £120million of new investment on line with the opening of
new state-of-the-art plaster and plasterboard plants at East Leake,
in Leicestershire and Sherburn, in North Yorkshire.
“The new plants will significantly improve the company’s operational
flexibility and logistics”, says Managing Director, Mike Chaldecott,
“ and I am therefore delighted to have Martin on board to ensure
that this translates into real benefits for our customers throughout
the UK.”
A keen sports fan, with coaching experience in Welsh International
hockey, Martin joined British Gypsum on 11th June. He will be based
at the company’s Head Office in East Leake.
