TEES Valley Regeneration - has welcomed a new member to its
board
TEES Valley Regeneration has welcomed a new member to
its board - and Graham Thompson has more reason than
most to want to keep up with the latest regeneration
news.
For Mr Thompson is managing director and controller of
programmes at ITV Tyne Tees Television. His career in
journalism started at Darlington College and he was
instrumental in setting up the Belasis news operation
based at Billingham for Tyne Tees.
Tees Valley Regeneration Board Chairman Graham Roberts
welcomed him and said: “It is a very welcome addition to
have someone like Graham on our already very strong
board. He will bring a new and different perspective to
our meetings.”
Joe Docherty, Chief Executive of Tees Valley
Regeneration, said: “Graham has a huge knowledge of the
Tees Valley, the exceptional things it has to offer and
also its challenges – and it helps that he has been a
Boro fan all his life.
“We have some truly outstanding projects - some that are
public knowledge and some that are still in the planning
stages - and it is fantastic to find someone to join our
board who is as excited about them as we are.”
Mr Thompson said: “The Tees Valley is an exciting place
to be at the moment.
“I’ve lived in the area for more than 20 years and I
look forward to playing a part in the next chapter of
the rejuvenation of this part of the UK.
“Regional success is built on confidence and the Tees
Valley has a lot to feel confident about.”
Mr Thompson is chairman of the Royal Television Society
in the North East and chair of Live Theatre in
Newcastle. His wife Aly is Middlesbrough born and bred
and the couple have three children.
