Lomond Group - Continues to Build Community Relations

As one of the leading property developers in Fife, the Lomond Group continues to develop innovative thinking across and beyond Fife’s regional boundaries. As part of its ongoing commitments, the company recognises that there are opportunities to support a number of good causes and local community initiatives.
The Lomond Group places great emphasis on community engagement, recognising the importance of building relationships and raising awareness. Which is why staff and primary 1 and 2 pupils from Leslie Primary school in Glenrothes, were invited to join Managing Director Grant Ritchie and Site Manager Graham Farmer at the Lomond Homes development at Leslie Mains to experience how house builders go about their work.
The visit coincided with a school project called ‘houses and homes’ with which the children have been involved. The Lomond Group took the opportunity to assist children in the project as part of the Company’s commitment to work with and inform local communities of the way in which they operate.
All the children were supplied with hard hats, which they were allowed to keep as a memento of their experience. On site the pupils were able to sit inside a JCB digger and also had the chance to see site machinery in action. Workers downed-tools and gave an explanation of how buildings are constructed and the materials used.
Mr Ritchie said, “As a company, we are very aware of the need to advise children of the inherent dangers of building sites. This guided tour was designed, therefore, to be educational, informative and enjoyable.”
The enthusiastic school groups were all given colouring pencils, Lomond Homes colouring books and key rings at the end of the tour to mark their visit.
Class teacher, Mrs Bryson, said, “I’d like to thank the Lomond Group for making this trip a very enjoyable experience for all the pupils (and teachers) involved!”
