Delivering the beauty and warmth of natural wood
combined with the practicality of laminate, Formica®
Veneer is the brand new premium wood surfacing
collection from Formica Limited. Replacing the existing
veneers range it features fresh and exciting new designs
developed exclusively by Formica Limited to address
current interior trends.
A sustainable option, Formica Veneer incorporates
reconstituted real wood veneers derived from fast
growing species such as poplar, obeche, basswood and
bamboo, which are all sourced from sustainably managed
forests. The 30 new designs capture the natural appeal
of real wood using a unique combination of fine wood
structure, beautiful colour and tactile finish.
Out performing most natural wood products Formica Veneer
is suitable for vertical and light duty horizontal
applications across a wide range of environments, such
as hotel, bar, restaurant, office, retail and domestic
interiors. Perfectly engineered, it offers looks that
cannot be achieved with natural wood veneers, while at
the same time providing consistency of colour sheet to
sheet, greater ease of fabrication and a higher level of
usability than conventional wood veneers.
Within Formica Veneer, exotic species are offered
alongside more traditional woods, while the wax finished
Fineline and Striawood options, and metropolitan exotic
straight grains add something inspired for the modern
interior.
Two distinct textures have been developed to give each
species a complementary and natural look and feel.
Providing a fashionable, soft, low-sheen surface, ‘Wax’
emulates the look of a waxed or dry wood finish. ‘Pur’
gloss offers a sophisticated, subtle polished lustre
with a silky texture. In addition, lighter colour
designs feature a bleached kraft backing which is more
complimentary to the surface colour and offers many
benefits during fabrication.
Available in a 2440x1220mm sheet size Formica Veneer is
the next generation in product development, offering
high-end premium designs without the performance, cost
and sourcing issues associated with real wood veneers.
