Food Industry Technical Ltd - Tesco Ireland’s Energy Commitment

Tesco Ireland have followed in Tesco UK’s footsteps and rolled out Intelli-Hood to 30 of their stores. Tesco Ireland saw the success of Tesco UK’s portfolio and decided to get behind their commitment to reduce Tesco’s Carbon Footprint by 50% by 2020.
A trial was done in Tesco Clonmel, Co. Tipperary to evaluate the amount of savings to be made and the result was considerable. They have saved 70% of ventilation fan energy consumption resulting in a 1.51 year pay back.
Phase one of the installations took place during the month of April and is now completed, with phase two to take place shortly.
