CMS Acoustics - CMS Acoustics delivers maximum isolation for
walls and ceilings with the IsoMax Clip
As the popularity of apartment developments continues
to rise, so does the challenge of controlling sound
transfer between dwellings whilst keeping construction
heights to a minimum. To help overcome this, CMS
Acoustic Solutions has launched to market the IsoMax
Clip system, a high performing and cost effective
alternative to traditional wall and ceiling decoupling
methods.
Constructed using a special rubber isolator, the IsoMax
Clip is a complete isolation system that outperforms
standard resilient bar constructions by up to 7dB,
offering sound insulation of 56dB. It is also able to
withstand loads of up to 22.5kg per clip, providing
greater peace of mind for developers and dwellers.
Unlike existing products on the market, the IsoMax Clip
does not require a large void between the wall or
ceiling. This low profile design means construction
heights can be kept to a minimum and available living
space is not encroached.
Suitable for use in new builds or refurbishments, the
IsoMax Clip is expected to be popular with city centre
developments, particularly high end apartments featuring
home theatre systems.
Paul Absolon, technical director of CMS Acoustics,
comments: “The IsoMax Clip system provides superior
acoustic performance on existing or new walls, exceeding
Part E requirements by up to 13dB. As well as being
ideal for separating walls and ceilings subject to
pre-completion testing, the IsoMax Clip can also be used
internally to optimise standards of living.”
Quick and easy to install using standard materials, the
IsoMax Clip is one of the most cost effective methods to
achieve superior noise control in walls and ceilings.
Attaching the IsoMax Clip system to ceiling joists,
timber and metal studs or masonry simply secures the
drywall furring channel and decouples the gypsum board
from the non-isolated structure.
The IsoMax Clip reduces the risk of error at
installation stage, as the screws cannot be
inadvertently attached to the stud or joist through the
resilient structure. Given the frequent occurrences
where the resilient leg of the channel is directly
screwed into the structure and rendered ineffective,
this feature is particularly useful when designing and
constructing ceilings and walls for noise control.
The IsoMax Clip system is available in the UK and
Ireland exclusively from CMS Acoustics as a result of a
joint venture between CMS Acoustics and Kinetics Noise
Control, one of the world leaders in noise control.
As well as Kinetics Noise Control, CMS Acoustics has a
number of other exclusive third party partnerships with
market leading companies such as Regupol manufacturer,
BSW. In addition, CMS Acoustics has its own in house
manufacturing facilities and is the UK’s leading
independent supplier of its own acoustic systems,
delivering high quality solutions at competitive prices.
