Spectrum Industrial - MAKE ‘NO SMOKING’ KNOWN
From 1st July 2007, the Smoking ban will be
introduced in all public places, which means all
workplaces must become smoke-free zones.
The law states that ‘No Smoking’ signs should be
displayed in a prominent position at the entrance to all
premises. Similarly, a sign should be displayed in each
compartment of a company vehicle that is used by more
than one person.
In response to the new legislation, Spectrum Industrial
has extended its range of signs which state that it is
against the law to smoke on these premises, which are
available through its network of distributors or via its
new Industrial Safety Solutions catalogue.
The NEW 120 page catalogue, containing over 4,000
products including standard and custom-made signs, helps
businesses meet all their health & safety requirements.
Failure to do this could result in a fine of £2,500 if
the owner of the premises does not attempt to prevent
smoking in a smoke-free place or vehicle, up to a fine
of £1,000 for the failure to display the correct signs
in smokefree premises and vehicles or up to £200 for
individuals who smoke in a smokefree premises or
vehicle.
John Billington, Sales Manager of Spectrum Industrial,
explains: “Many businesses are still not aware that they
need to display the correct ‘No Smoking’ signage in
order to meet with the legislation. After 1st July
failure to do this could result in a significant fine,
so it is definitely worth investing in up-to-date
signage. Our new range contains many different sizes and
specifications, but our bespoke sign service means we
can tailor signs to suit individual purposes. We have
had a huge response to our new range already and expect
this to increase significantly over the next few
months.”
Spectrum Industrial is renowned for the quality of its
self adhesive semi-rigid plastic signs and offers a
guaranteed ‘next day’ delivery service on all standard
products, which are also available as stocked items
through its nationwide distribution network. As the
company offers an in-house design and production
service, custom-made signs are available within 7-10
working days.
As well as ‘No Smoking’ signage, Spectrum Industrial
offers a selection of cigarette bins and smoking
shelters. The company has also increased its range of
‘Taktyle’ Braille signs for the visually impaired and
introduced new foreign and multi-language signs to cater
for the increasingly diverse workforce.
